In today's ever-evolving and competitive job market, it is crucial for high school students to have access to resources and guidance that will help them explore diverse career paths and break down barriers that may stand in their way. This is where ELEVATE CAMP steps in - a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Career Awareness & Mentorship Programs for black high school students.


Founded in 2019 by the Canadian Youth of East Africa co-founder, ELEVATE CAMP has quickly become a beacon of hope and opportunity working with over 100 high school students looking to navigate their future career paths. By partnering with the Toronto District School Board in 2021, the program has been able to reach many young minds and offer a wide range of workshops and mentorship sessions.

One of the key objectives of ELEVATE CAMP is to showcase representation in diverse career fields by highlighting the experiences and journeys of Black and other persons of color as mentors. By doing so, the program not only provides valuable guidance and insights but also inspires the next generation of leaders to pursue their passions and dreams. Through individual career planning sessions, workshops, seminars, and online resources, ELEVATE CAMP aims to empower students to explore different career options, build valuable skills, and develop a strong network of support. By fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and entrepreneurship, the program equips students with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Mentorship is a crucial aspect of a student's growth and development, especially for underrepresented communities. ELEVATE CAMP recognizes this importance and has created an innovative mentorship program specifically designed for high school Black students.

Founded by the Canadian Youth of East Africa in 2019, ELEVATE CAMP goes beyond traditional mentorship programs by offering a virtual/in-person Career Awareness & Mentorship Program for Black high school students. In addition to career planning workshops and case competitions for high school students, the program also provides various youth development programs and workshops.

One significant achievement of ELEVATE CAMP is its partnership with the Toronto District School Board in 2021. This partnership has enabled the program to reach and positively impact a larger number of students. With a focus on showcasing representation in diverse career fields, ELEVATE CAMP aims to connect Black and other persons of color as mentors to high school students. By doing so, the program not only provides guidance but also inspires and empowers students to pursue their dreams in any field they choose.

Through individual career planning sessions, career awareness programs, and mentorship seminars, ELEVATE CAMP has successfully worked with over 100 high school students and engaged with more than 60 young Black professionals. The program also emphasizes the importance of building solutions to global challenges, fostering collaboration among students, providing mentorship opportunities, and introducing concepts of entrepreneurship. Overall, ELEVATE CAMP is not just a mentorship program; it is a catalyst for change, empowerment, and growth in the lives of Canadian high school students.
